Contract Number: N00178-04-C-3004
NDI developed an algorithm for sensorless control of linear induction motors without using mechanical sensors for feedback. The specific algorithm involves the use of the phase angle of the magnetic field generated in the motor stator and other available motor variables to define parameters for sensorless speed control. Currently developing the software necessary to modify the control system of the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launching System (EMALS) and test at the test site.

PSGS has supported over 15 years of information technology projects for the Navy. In our history we have provided the full gamut of support including software engineering, system development, programming services and infrastructure support. Our tasks range in size from a $10K network infrastructure upgrade for the Naval Sea Systems Command Installations and Equipment code to a $27Million document management installation for the Department of Homeland Security. Our support of the installations office during the BRAC closure of NSWC Louisville and corresponding privatization helped consolidate over 14 data sources on various platforms to help the government analyze risks and make informed decisions regarding property and equipment transfers. PSGS has demonstrated support of NAVSEA environmental, installations/facilities, and ship acquisition and operating directorates.

All PSGS IT projects follow a life cycle appropriate to the project difficulty, scalability and maintainability levels. PSGS maintains a software engineering group that is Software Engineering Institute (SEI) CMMI level 3 certified. This group has been instrumental in developing applications that require strict adherence to policies and procedures established within a System Development Life Cycle.
